Abbeville, LA (2/26/2023) – According to the Abbeville Police Department (APD), officers responded to a shooting that occurred Friday, February 24, 2023.
An APD spokesperson said the shooting occurred near the Family Dollar Store on Veterans Memorial Drive.
Upon officers’ arrival, they observed a very chaotic scene with people screaming, some people attempting to help victims, and cars leaving and going out in all directions, according to an APD spokesperson.
Sources on the scene said some gunfire was directed toward the ZaZa’s Houka Lounge.
According to an official with Abbeville General Hospital, four gunshot victims were seen by emergency staff. The conditions of the four victims are not known.
The police chief issued a curfew order on last night, which ended Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 6 am.
