Campti, LA (12/13/2023) – The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) reported a man suffered moderate injuries in a single-vehicle crash on US-71 north of Campti.
At approximately 4:11pm, NPSO Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #9 Rescue, NPSO Rescue, Louisiana State Police and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries and possible entrapment in the 300 block of US-71 north of Campti, La.
NPFD #9 arrived on scene finding the sole-occupant of the vehicle suffering from moderate injuries with no entrapment.
According to initial reports, a 23-year-old Campti man operating a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound on US-71 north of Campti when for reasons still under investigation drifted across the centerline. The vehicle traveled across the southbound lane and exited the road on the left side. The vehicle continued to travel off the road and struck a tree coming to a rest.
The driver was transported from the scene by EMS to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with what was believed to be moderate non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria are investigating the crash.
