Hospital Security Guard Hired by CPSO Fired After Arrest on Multiple Charges

Vidalia, LA (9/7/2024) — A hospital security guard hired by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) has been fired following his arrest.

Javontrics Murphy, who was employed by CPSO since March 2024, has been charged with malfeasance in office, first-degree rape, obstruction of justice, and simple battery.

On August 30, 2024, CPSO received a criminal complaint against Murphy, prompting an immediate investigation. Per standard procedure, Murphy was placed on administrative leave, and the Louisiana State Police took over the case.

After completing the investigation, Murphy was arrested, and CPSO terminated his employment.

Sheriff Hedrick commented, “We uphold our core values and will pursue criminal prosecution when necessary. We remain committed to protecting the children in Concordia Parish.”

The case is now in the hands of the Louisiana State Police for further inquiry.
