Glenmora Man Arrested for Sexual Abuse Material Involving Children; bond set at $70,400

Glenmora, LA (6/8/2023) – The Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported a Glenmora man was arrested for sexual abuse material involving children.

In May 2023, LSP Special Victim’s Unit (LSP SVU) investigated the sex crime of downloading abusive material. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was downloading sexually abusive material involving children.

As a result of the investigation, LSP SVU determined the suspect’s identity as 53-year-old Lane Ashmore of Glenmora. On May 23, 2023, with the information obtained, an arrest warrant was obtained from the Rapides Parish 9th Judicial District Court for 500 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.

On May 27, 2023, Ashmore was arrested and booked into the Galveston County Jail. On June 2, 2023, Ashmore was extradited to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) Detection Center (DC1).

The investigation remains active and ongoing. No further information is available at this time.

LSP SVU works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor. The public plays an important role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity.
