Alexandria, LA (10/26/2023) – Germon Jefferson, 27, charged with illegal use of a weapon (2 counts) and second-degree murder, changed his plea before trial was set to begin to attempted second-degree murder.
Jefferson was charged with the murder of Serena Williams, 18, of Alexandria, Louisiana, at the Sanctuary Apartments, formerly Chateau DeVille Apartments.
The plea stemmed from an offer by the District Attorney’s Office, which allowed him to plead guilty to the illegal weapons charge and guilty to the lesser offense of attempted second-degree murder. Jefferson was sentenced to 75 years in prison to be served without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

The suspect in the senseless killing of an 18-year-old Alexandria woman who was arrested in Dallas has been extradited to the Rapides Parish Jail
German Marquise Jefferson, 25, has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder, four counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Home Invasion, and Domestic Abuse Battery. All these charges stem from an incident that occurred at Chateau Deville on 11/16 at 10:30 p.m.
Upon the officer’s arrival, an investigation revealed Serena Williams, an 18-year-old female from Alexandria, was shot numerous times in her chest area. She was taken to a local hospital, where she passed away a short time later.
Detective’s further investigation revealed the suspect, Jefferson, came to the apartment complex and shot the victim, who was inside an apartment with other persons, then left the area before officers arrived.
