Engagement and Accountability: Where Do Alexandria Candidates Stand?

Alexandria, LA (10/20/2024) – Where do Alexandria candidates stand as election day approaches? We want to remind our community of the importance of staying informed and engaged in the democratic process. Many have asked why we didn’t interview certain candidates.

To clarify, we extended multiple invitations to the candidates running in the following races: Rapides Parish Police Jury District D (Christopher Caffery, Randy Harris, and Ernest Nelson) and Alexandria Council Districts 1, 3, & At-Large (Derrick Alexander, Malcom Larvadain, Reddex Washington, Cynthia Perry, and Jules Green). Unfortunately, none of these candidates accepted our invitation to appear on the Let’s Talk Show and share their platforms with you, the voters.

Recently, we posed a question to our community, asking: “Among these candidates for Police Jury District D, who should we vote for, and why or why not?” Many of you shared your thoughts, and we appreciate the dialogue that has started. Several comments stood out from supporters of Christopher Caffery, who expressed strong endorsements for his candidacy.

While it’s encouraging to see community members engaging in support of their preferred candidates, we recognize that many voters remain undecided or unaware of the candidates’ platforms. We want to remind everyone that early voting is underway, offering a crucial opportunity to make your voice heard. Given this, we extend an open invitation to each candidate to share their vision and plans for a better Alexandria with our engaged audience.

Research Candidates

We encourage all voters to research the candidates and engage directly with them, even if they haven’t appeared on our show or attended forums we’ve covered. If you have questions or concerns, reach out to them directly. Making an informed choice is essential to ensuring you elect the best person to represent your interests.

At UrbanCast’s Let’s Talk Show, we remain committed to providing a platform for open dialogue and transparency. Our mission is to create meaningful conversations that help you make the most informed decision possible at the polls. Remember, every vote counts, and your participation is vital to shaping the future of our community.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following candidates who joined us and shared their platforms with our listeners: Quentin Anthony Anderson, Trayce Snow, Peter Williams, Chief Judge John Michael Guidry, ‘Uncle Willie’ Chark, Elbert Guillory, Lee Rubin, and Senator Cleo Fields.

Thank you for being engaged and active in this process. We hope to see you at the polls!
