Vernon Parish, La. (10/11/2022) – A DeRidder man was arrested for 5000 counts of possession of child pornography.
Bruce R. Legassie, age 47, of DeRidder, Louisiana was arrested on October 11, 2022.
The arrest resulted from a joint investigation between the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.
VPSO Detectives initially arrested Legassie on September 8th, and at that time, he was charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
The Louisiana State Police conducted a forensic examination of electronic devices belonging to Legassie and discovered thousands of images/videos depicting child pornography.
On October 11, 2022, VPSO Detectives arrested Bruce Legassie and charged him with 5000 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Bond has not been set, and Legassie remains in the VPSO jail.
The investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges are expected.
All persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
