City of Pineville Council Meeting to Address Condemnations and Budget

Pineville, LA (6/10/2024) – The City of Pineville will hold a public meeting of the Mayor and Council on June 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Room, located at 910 Main Street. The meeting agenda includes a range of topics, from recognizing local police officers to addressing property condemnations and budget matters.

  5. Approval of Minutes: The Council will review and accept the minutes from the May 14th Regular Council Meeting.
  6. Financial Report: Presentation of the city’s financial status.
  7. Recognition: Pineville Police Officers Hunter Rachal and Brandon Paul will be honored for their recent graduation from the Alexandria Regional Police Academy.

The Council will conduct condemnation hearings for six single-family homes:

  1. 101 Olive Street (owned by Wanda O. Cryer)
  2. 103 Meyer Drive (owned by Bernard Hayes Jr, c/o Irma Hayes)
  3. 212 Reagan Street (owned by LeLe Thi Nguyen)
  4. 204 Dorothy Street (owned by Carlos Del Rio)
  5. 307 Stephen Street (owned by Ha Ngan)
  6. 1029 Erion Street (owned by Michael Hanson Pease)

New Business

14-21. Resolutions for Condemnation Hearings: The Mayor will be authorized to serve notices and schedule public hearings for properties on Myers Street, Ball Street, Andrews Street, Baker Street, Baptist Street, Erion Street, and Melrose Street.

  1. Official Journal Declaration: A resolution will be approved to declare The Town Talk as the official journal of record.
  2. Surplus Declaration: Items in City Hall Administration will be declared surplus for disposal.
  3. Rezoning Petition: The Council will introduce a petition to rezone 11.2547 acres at 2136 Rainbow Drive from C-1 to C-3 for a new automobile dealership.
    25-28. Budget Recommendations and Amendments: The Finance Committee will present recommendations, and ordinances amending the 2023-2024 budget and adopting the 2024-2025 budget will be introduced.
  4. Emergency Declaration Ratification: A resolution to ratify the June 5, 2024, Declaration of Emergency regarding the underground water storage tank repair on Janet Drive will be approved.
  5. Financing Resolution: A resolution to proceed with financing up to $10,000,000 for waterworks and sewer system improvements will be approved.
  6. Executive Session: Discussion of potential legal action involving a former employee.

Public Participation

The meeting will conclude with a public comment period, where residents can voice their concerns and suggestions, followed by adjournment and a benediction. Additionally, a Legal Committee Meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the Administration Conference Room.
