The Central Louisiana weather update highlights increasing rain chances as a cold front approaches, with a flash flooding risk on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, expect partly cloudy skies with highs around 81°F and minimal rain chances. Wednesday will bring a 30-70% chance of rain and thunderstorms as a cold front pushes through the area, elevating the flash flooding risk.
By Thursday, clear skies and cooler temperatures between 70-75°F are anticipated, lasting into Friday.
Wednesday’s rain and thunderstorm activity may lead to flash flooding. The National Weather Service warns of a 5% flash flood risk within a 25-mile radius across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. Travelers should avoid flooded roads, and low-lying areas near bayous and streams may experience flooding.
Meanwhile, a tropical disturbance over the central Caribbean Sea shows signs of development. Environmental conditions could soon support its formation into a tropical depression. The system is expected to move westward into the western Caribbean Sea later this week.
