Brandon Francisco’s trial put on hold by Louisiana Supreme Court

Rapides Parish, La. (8/24/2022) – 36-year-old Brandon Francisco, who is a person of interest in the disappearance of Ella Goodie of Scott, Louisiana, had a trial for a separate case put on hold until further notice by the Louisiana Supreme Court. The trial is on hold until further notice by the Louisiana Supreme Court as the court reviews a writ filed by the District Attorney’s office. The case in question is a 2018 charge for attempted 2nd-degree murder for a shooting in Cheneyville that was allegedly over a drug debt.

Tiffany Sanders, Francisco’s defense attorney for the 2018 case, filed a motion to suppress the prosecution’s intent to introduce evidence from a 2007 conviction for Francisco, where he is said to have stabbed an ex-girlfriend almost 20 times. Judge Beard initially allowed the evidence to be introduced, but the trial was halted during jury selection because the Louisiana Supreme Court had granted the stay.

Sanders argued that since the 2007 case involved domestic violence, his previous conviction had no bearing on his current trial because this was about a drug debt. The Louisiana Supreme Court decided at 4:30 pm on August 23, 2022.

Francisco and his fate in this trial are of extreme interest to the family and friends of Ella Goodie. Francisco is thought to be the last person Ms. Goodie had contact with. She has not been found, but her vehicle was recovered in Texas. It is the hope of her family that Francisco gives up some clues or information on her whereabouts.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Ella Goodie, please, please, for her family and friends sake, contact law enforcement immediately. Let’s get a resolution for her and her family!
