Baton Rouge, LA (7/10/2023) – The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) Uniformed Officers disrupted a street racing operation on Friday, July 7, 2023.
BRPD Street Crimes Division, the Special Response Team, and BRPD Detectives participated in a Street Racing Operation this past Friday, July 7, 2023. During this operation, law enforcement officers learned that street racing participants were blocking city streets in various areas of Baton Rouge in an attempt to do stunts and disrupt traffic.
Law Enforcement Officers began this operation around 7:00 pm and ended around 3:00 am Saturday. Officers followed the street racing participants to different areas in Baton Rouge, disrupting their activities. The street racing participants were met with a large law enforcement presence around 11:00 pm in the parking lot at 3250 North Acadian Thruway East, Capital Area Technical College.
BRPD towed 26 vehicles, issued 22 citations for Spectators, three citations for No Insurance, two citations for No Driver’s License, 1 citation for Switched Plate, two for misdemeanor summons, one felony arrest, and seized one gun.
This is BRPD’s ongoing effort to deter Street Racing activities in Baton Rouge.
