Ball, La. (11/17/2022) – According Ball Police Department, a juvenile was taken into custody, treated at a local hospital, then released and booked into the Renaissance home for youth.
The adult suspect remains in the hospital in the custody of officers and will be booked into Rapides Parish Detention Center #1 when he is released from the hospital. BPD also said the adult suspect’s name and booking photo would be released at the time of official booking.
We reached out to Rapides Parish Schools Superintendent Jeff Powell, he stated, “We were made aware of the situation by the school principal as she and her staff followed safety protocols and procedures. We are thankful for our very strong relationship with our SROs, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Chief Dean of the Ball Police Department. According to law enforcement, the persons involved were apprehended, and because safety protocols were followed, no students or employees were harmed. We will continue to work with law enforcement as they investigate this situation.”
