Join the APD Team!
Alexandria Police Department (APD) is having a fitness test tomorrow morning to see if you have what it takes to be a part of the department!
APD will host a physical fitness assessment tomorrow, Saturday, October 22, at 9 am at ASH Track for anyone interested in becoming a police officer.
The APD application process requires candidates to pass a physical fitness assessment. The assessment includes a 300-meter timed run, 1-minute push-ups, and 1-minute sit-ups. Applicants are scored based on the Cooper Standard for Law Enforcement, based on the applicant’s age and sex.
Individuals considering applying for a position as a police officer with the Alexandria Police Department are encouraged to participate.
Passing scores are valid for up to six months. An Alexandria Regional Police Training Academy staff member will be on hand to provide tips and pointers. The purpose is to help participants improve their scores and answer questions regarding the hiring process.
All assessments will be conducted at the Alexandria Senior High School (ASH) Football Stadium. The assessments will begin promptly at 9 a.m. For more information, contact Lt. Wesley Mathews at 318-441-6429 or [email protected].
