Alexandria man wanted for home invasion and attempted 1st-degree murder

Alexandria, LA (06/23/2023) – Alexandria Police Department (APD) reported a 34-year-old is wanted for home invasion and attempted first-degree murder.

On June 23, 2023, at 12:48 AM, APD was called to the 4000 Blocke of Lakeside Drive regarding someone being shot. The initial investigation revealed that a known assailant forced his way into an apartment and shot 25-year-old Tyruin Green of Alexandria, LA. Green and another apartment occupant fled on foot and contacted the APD. Green was transported to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Through the investigation, the APD detectives learned the suspect’s identity and obtained a warrant for his arrest. The Suspect is identified as 34-year-old Andrew D. Howard of Alexandria, LA.

The warrant issued for Howard is for one count of Home Invasion and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder. Howard should be considered armed and dangerous.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
