Alexandria man arrested for attempted 2nd-degree murder in connection to the Webster Street shooting

Alexandria, LA (4/7/2023) – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) has arrested the suspect in the shooting on March 24, 2023, in the Webster Street area.

At approximately 11:20 PM, the Alexandria Police Department was dispatched to the 2100 block of Webster Street about reports of gunshots and someone being shot.  Upon Officers’ arrival, they discovered a 25-year-old male from Alexandria, LA, that had been shot, lying near the front door of a residence.  The victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and was treated for his non-life-threatening wounds.

Today, Alexandria Detectives arrested 23-year-old male Delmonte Dreon Zone, from Alexandria, LA., for one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and one 1-Count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.  He was also arrested on active warrants for 1-Count of Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation and 1-Count of Criminal Damage to Property Under $1000.00        

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
