Alexandria man arrested by RADE agents on Browns Bend Road

Alexandria, LA (2/4/2023) – In early January 2023, Agents with the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit began receiving community complaints about possible narcotic activity on Browns Bend Road.

Agents were familiar with the address as it was identified to be the residence of Richard Scott Dauzart. 43 of Alexandria.  After two weeks of follow-up investigations, Agents obtained a search warrant for the address on Brown Bend Road.  Due to the suspect’s lengthy criminal history, Rapides Parish SWAT was contacted for assistance in serving the search warrant.

On January 23, 2023, RPSO SWAT executed the search warrant, and Dauzart was found hiding under the trailer house.  After a brief struggle, Dauzart was taken into custody without further incident.  A follow-up search was conducted by RADE Agents, where they located 15.3 ounces of methamphetamines,

Three grams of fentanyl, 5.25 ounces of marijuana, a few dozen Gabapentin pills, and an AR-style rifle.  Dauzart is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Dauzart was arrested, transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center, and booked on numerous narcotics and firearm-related charges.  Dauzart was released on January 25, 2023, on a $26,500.00 bond.

RADE Agents say their investigation is still ongoing.
