Alexandria, LA (10/1/2024) – Alexandria District 1 candidate’s campaign signs were stolen just two days after being set up.
Candidate Derrick Alexander, aiming to replace incumbent Reddex Washington, stated that these incidents will not deter his efforts to bring positive change to District 1. Alexander also said he plans to file charges against those responsible for the theft.v
Alexander posted a message on Facebook after attending the Zion Hill Church Family Candidate Forum, which was also attended by fellow candidate Malcolm Larvadain. Washington did not attend the event, claiming a prior engagement, according to sources.
Stealing or destroying political signs is a criminal offense. In Louisiana, such actions can result in fines or criminal charges. Political signs are vital for candidates to reach voters and communicate their platform.
Despite the setback, Alexandria District 1 candidate’s campaign signs being stolen has not discouraged Alexander, who remains focused on his goal of improving the community.
