A Rapides Parish Grand Jury clears a man accused of the second-degree murder of a woman in March 2022

Alexandria, LA. (12/18/2022) – A Rapides Parish Grand Jury returned a “no true bill” on December 13, 2022, of the man accused of murdering Charntel Baty.

According to Mr. Derrick D. Ford, the accused posted documentation of the “no true bill” on social media on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

A “no true bill” is a finding by a grand jury that there is no probable cause to decide that a crime has been committed.

A 46-year-old man wanted for the murder of Charntel Baty; he should be considered armed and dangerous

Boyce, La. (8/1/2022) – The Boyce Police Department, Major Crimes/CID Unit, is seeking the public’s assistance for the whereabouts of Derrick D. Ford, a black male, 5’6, 140 pounds, age 46. Mr. Ford is wanted for the second-degree murder of the death of Charntel Baty that occurred in Boyce in March.

Mr. Ford should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach and don’t hesitate to contact the U.S. Marshals office, local law enforcement agency, or the Boyce Police Department at 318-793-5098 with any information on Derrick Ford’s location.
