Bolton Names New Head Coaches in Football, Baseball

Alexandria, LA (6/22/2023) – Bolton High School is excited to announce the hiring of coaches Clint Dean and Kenny Hudson to its athletic programs in football and baseball, respectively. Dean will be the head football coach, while Hudson will lead the Bear baseball team.

Mr. Dean comes over from Northwood, where he was a defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator over the last two seasons (2021-2022). Dean previously has head coaching experience at Brame as its football coach from 2019-2020 after a long tenure as an assistant coach of eight seasons. As an assistant with Brame, he played a major role in developing 2019 All-American Bowl participant and current LSU football player Jacobian Guillory.

An alumnus of Louisiana College, Dean was a member of the Wildcats’ football team from 2002-2005 and is an avid fan of the Texas A&M Aggies.

“I’ve built a lot of relationships with some great kids,” Dean said. “There’s been some kids that had a rough go of it, but we went through it together and they came out on the other end to be great students in high school and great citizens.”

Mr. Hudson was an assistant at Mississippi Valley last season, but his roots run deep in Central Louisiana as an instructor, coach, and trainer. He was responsible for training and instructing athletes of all Barnes Academy sports and coaching some of its youth baseball teams.

Hudson has helped develop numerous athletes in Cenla, such as former Southern football player Jamar Washington and Power 5 athlete Dare Rosenthal, who played football at LSU and Kentucky.

“To see the process and the growth of every kid is what I love,” Hudson said. “I enjoy the fine details of it. That’s something that’s going to help with us starting this program back up.”

A formal introduction for the media in the area will take place at the school at noon Thursday.
