Natchitoches, LA (4/1/2023) – The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office reported at 2:52 pm, emergency personnel responded to reports of a vehicle fire on I-49 southbound near milepost #132 south of Natchitoches according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Units arrived on the scene, finding the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
Deputies say a 2021 Ford F-150 pulled a trailer loaded with solar panels. F-150 was a total loss. Firefighters were able to save the trailer.
The driver of the F-150, from Alexandria, was treated at the scene by EMS for smoke inhalation and released.
The interstate had to be closed briefly while firefighters fought the blaze extending into the grassy median near the tree line.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
