Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected today as an area of low pressure over the Northwest Gulf moves over Southeast Louisiana.

Some locally heavy rainfall will be possible, with up to one inch of rain falling on saturated grounds. This will have the potential to flood poor drainage urban areas and continued rises along area rivers and tributaries.

Highs near 40 to mid-40s north of I-10, upper 40s to mid-60s across southern parishes and counties. North to northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight is cloudy and cold with evening showers over Central and South Central Louisiana, diminishing by Midnight. Lows range from the mid to upper 30s north of I-10 to lower 40s across the southern parishes and counties. North winds increasing to 15 mph.
