Shreveport, LA (1/17/2023) – A Shreveport man shot outside a motel has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s office.
Gerald Jamar Abbott Jr., 18, was shot and mortally wounded outside the Sleep Inn Hotel in the 6700 block of Klug Pines Road just after 8:40 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023. He succumbed to his wounds at Ochsner LSU Health hospital at 9:20 p.m.
Klug Pines Road runs south of Westport Avenue, just west of Pines Road.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which interested media should direct inquiries.
The death is the fourth homicide in Caddo Parish in 2023.
