Nacogdoches, TX (12/29/2022) – According to the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 8:30 pm, Matthew Edgar was apprehended and taken into custody by the US Marshal Service.
Edgar was immediately taken to the Sabine County Jail to await formal sentencing by the court. The U.S. Marshal Service found Edgar in the local Sabine County community; he has been on the run for under a year.
Matthew Edgar was arrested in November 2020 in connection with the death of Livye Lewis, 19. A Sabine County jury convicted Edgar for the murder of Lewis after he failed to show up for the third day of his trial on Jan. 27, 2022.
