Alexandria, LA (12/12/2022) – Kourtland Marcotte, a 15-year-old sophomore at Peabody Magnet High School won first place in Alexandria American Legion Oratorical Contest.
Since 1938, the contest has tested our future leaders in high school for their knowledge and appreciation for the United States Constitution. The program presents its participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation’s law, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of American citizenship’s duties, responsibilities, rights, and privileges.
Kourtland will be traveling to Lafayette for the American Legion’s District Competition.
Let’s wish this young leader luck as he continues on his journey.
