Areas of fog will burn off through the morning giving way to mostly cloudy skies through the day. High pressure swiftly passing to the north will keep rain chances to a minimum. Temperatures will fair a degree or two above normal but will be much closer to seasonable temps than in previous days. Winds will be out of the east to the northeast around 5 to 10 MPH.
On Tuesday, there is an Enhanced to Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms expected Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning as a strong storm system and a strong cold front pushes through the area. All modes of severe weather are possible: damaging wind gusts, large hail, and tornadoes. There is also a threat of heavy rain and flash flooding.
WHERE: Slight Risk (2 out of 5; or between 15 and 29 percent chance) exists for most of the region. Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5; or greater than 30 percent chance) exists in central and north Louisiana including Vernon, Rapides, and Avoyelles Parishes.
WHEN: Moving from west to east, across the area with showers and thunderstorms starting Tuesday morning. The risk of stronger to severe thunderstorms will begin in the afternoon hours.
