$21,000 of Narcotics taken off the streets of Benton, Louisiana; town size ~2,000

Benton, LA (12/10/2022) – On December 8, 2022, the Benton Police Department, along with the assistance of a Bossier Sheriff’s Office K9, executed a search warrant at the 100 Block of Red River Street.

The search warrant came from a month-long investigation regarding illegal narcotics at the residence. As a result, two arrests were made, and over $21,000 worth of narcotics were taken off the street. Of the narcotics was approximately 3.3 lbs of marijuana. Along with ten high-powered rifles,1 SMG, and three handguns, plus over $1,000 in cash was seized.

The two subjects were charged with the following:

-Possession with intent to distribute marijuana

-Possession of a firearm with CDS over 14 grams

-Possession of CDS in the presence of a minor

-Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)

-Possession of drug paraphernalia

Both subjects were booked into Bossier Parish jail.

Chief Steve Collier said, “The Benton Police Department strives to keep the citizens safe and to address any issues that may be brought to our attention. After a month-long investigation by officers, we were able to capitalize on one of these issues and remove a good amount of guns and drugs from the streets! I am thankful for our officers in the town of Benton who work hard to keep us safe. I would also like to thank Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington for their assistance in this operation!”
