Jeanerette, LA (12/8/2022) – A Jeanerette homeowner shot and killed a man in an attempted home invasion on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Two remaining suspects fled the home and are still at large.
According to Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office (IPSO), on December 6, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call regarding a home invasion in the 9000 block of Old Jeanerette Road. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male inside the home.
Deputies learned that the deceased male entered the home with two others and fired his gun at the homeowner. At which time, the homeowner returned fire, fatally injuring the intruder. The two remaining suspects fled the home.
The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time, pending investigation and notification of the family.
