Jackson, Ms. (12/4/2022) – A Jackson State University (JSU) student was found dead inside a vehicle on campus on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart confirmed that Flynn Brown, 22, of New Jersey, was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound around 8 a.m. in a university parking lot.
Dr. Thomas Hudson, JSU president, said on Twitter, “JSU family, it is with a heavy heart that I confirm the death of a JSU student. The loss of a young person is always a devastating circumstance for our campus community. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.”
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Randall Smith, 20, has been arrested in connection with the death of the Brown.
Police said, at this time, there are no further threats to those on campus.
The police provided no other details.
