Lecompte Man Arrested for aggravated arson

Lecompte, LA. (10/1/2022) – The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFM) has arrested a Lecompte man for allegedly setting fire to an apartment unit that was feet away from a relative’s home.

Izaih Lloyd, 36, was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on Sept. 28 on one count of Aggravated Arson and additional unrelated warrants.

In the morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 27, the Lecompte Fire Department responded to reports of an apartment fire located in the 3000 block of Pine Street. Firefighters learned police officers noticed the fire in the area while investigating a trespassing call that involved Lloyd.

After an assessment of the scene, including witness statements, SFM deputies determined the fire was intentionally set in the bedroom of an apartment located above a storage area. The structure stands six feet from a mobile home that was occupied at the time of the fire.

Following additional investigative efforts, Lloyd was confirmed as the case’s suspect and taken into custody.

The SFM thanks the Lecompte Police Department for its assistance in closing this case.

According to the Rapides Parish Inmate Inquiry System, Lloyd’s charges are one count of contempt of court, one count of aggravated arson, and a probation violation. Lloyd’s total bond is $11,500.
