Alexandria, LA (12/5/2025) — The Rapides Area Planning Commission has opened a new public comment period for an updated list of transportation projects across the region.
The document outlines planned improvements that may affect local roads, traffic flow, safety, and future development in Alexandria, Pineville, and surrounding communities.
Because federal rules require public review, RAPC is offering a 14-day comment period. This is the second review window. RAPC reopened it to give residents more time to respond.
Beginning December 5, residents can review the updated project list on the RAPC website at www.rapc.info/transportation. The comment period ends December 19.
Residents may also request printed copies at the RAPC office at 803 Johnston Street in Alexandria. Copies can be requested by calling 318-487-5401 or by emailing jbolen@rapc.info.
RAPC will accept written comments until December 19. Comments may be mailed to the RAPC office or emailed to jbolen@rapc.info. Residents may also submit comments online through the APMPO Online Public Comment Form at:
RAPC also issued an ADA notice. The agency does not discriminate based on disability. RAPC will provide communication aids or reasonable modifications when needed. Residents needing accommodations should contact the ADA Coordinator at 318-487-5401. Calling at least three days before the comment period ends allows time to arrange services.
This review period gives residents a direct voice in shaping future transportation needs. Community input helps guide local road improvements and supports safer travel throughout the region.
