ALEXANDRIA, La. (3/6/2025) – An Alexandria man arrested for illegal drugs now faces multiple charges after officers discovered narcotics and firearms while responding to a disturbance call.
On February 26, 2025, Alexandria Police Department (APD) officers arrived at a residence in the 3000 block of Dawkins Street for a reported disturbance. While investigating inside the home, officers saw glass jars containing suspected marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.
APD contacted the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit, which interviewed the resident, 44-year-old Courtney Holt Dixon. Dixon admitted to possessing marijuana, mushrooms, and multiple firearms inside his home.
After obtaining consent to search, agents found 2.5 pounds of marijuana, a jar of psychedelic mushrooms, 28 bags of THC edibles, and eight firearms. One firearm had an illegal-length barrel, prompting further investigation by an ATF Task Force deputy.
Authorities arrested Dixon without incident and booked him into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on charges including possession with intent to distribute and illegal carrying of firearms with drugs. Dixon was later released on a $13,000 bond.
The RADE Unit continues to investigate narcotics activity in Central Louisiana. Anyone with information about the Alexandria man arrested for illegal drugs or other drug-related crimes can report tips to the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Facebook page at facebook.com/RADEunit.
