Alexandria, LA (10/4/2024) – In May 2024, the Peabody Alumni Endowment Foundation awarded $10K in scholarships to five deserving Peabody Magnet High School students, each receiving $2,000 to support their academic journeys.
These scholarships are part of the foundation’s ongoing mission to assist Peabody students who have been accepted to accredited colleges, universities, or vocational institutions.
The Peabody Alumni Endowment Foundation was established by Peabody High School and Peabody Magnet alumni to preserve the school’s legacy and support future generations. In addition to awarding scholarships, the foundation aims to strengthen relationships between current students, faculty, and alumni by establishing an endowment fund and hosting fundraising events.
The foundation encourages alumni and community members to join its mission by becoming members. Membership in the Peabody Alumni Endowment Foundation allows individuals to directly contribute to sustaining scholarships and furthering the organization’s goals. Members also gain the opportunity to collaborate on events, attend board meetings, and support strategic initiatives designed to preserve the legacy of Peabody Magnet High School.

In October 2024, the foundation hosted its inaugural Board Retreat at the Rapides Parish Library. The retreat focused on strategic planning for 2025 and beyond, with discussions covering the foundation’s by-laws, suggested amendments, and compliance with IRS rules. Membership participation played a key role in shaping the organization’s future endeavors.
