Marksville, LA (July 23, 2024) – The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) is seeking the public’s assistance in a death investigation. On July 22, 2024, APSO responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence on LA Highway 1192 in Marksville, LA. The deceased has been identified as Gary P. Normand of Marksville.
Initial investigations revealed suspicious circumstances surrounding Normand’s death. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by APSO in conjunction with the Avoyelles Parish Coroner’s Office. Normand’s body has been sent for an autopsy, and authorities are continuing to follow up on leads as they develop.
Sheriff David L. Dauzat is urging anyone with information related to Gary Normand’s death or any crimes committed against him to come forward. Any assistance or information that could lead to the identification of the person(s) involved or witnesses would be greatly appreciated.
