Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputy Arrested

Beauregard Parish, LA (July 17, 2024) – On July 16, 2024, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Thomas M. Noble, a corrections deputy, on charges of Simple Battery and Malfeasance in Office.

The arrest follows an incident on July 8, 2024, at the Beauregard Parish Jail where Noble allegedly violated departmental policy by using unapproved restraint procedures on an inmate.

The Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation immediately after the incident, which ultimately led to Noble’s termination from his position. Following his dismissal, Noble was formally charged with RS 14:35 Simple Battery and RS 14:134 Malfeasance in Office. He was subsequently booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail and later released on bond.

Sheriff Herford expressed his disappointment in a statement, saying, “It is very disappointing that one of our deputies would act in an inappropriate manner towards a restrained inmate. We spend a lot of time providing the appropriate training and resources for all of our deputies, and we have very detailed policies and procedures for dealing with situations such as this. We teach our deputies that we treat people the way we want to be treated. I realize the amount of trust that this community places in us, and we will always be appreciative for that. This office will not tolerate any actions that do not serve this community in the most professional way possible.”

It is important to remember that all persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
