Alexandria, LA (2/23/2024) – The City of Alexandria’s Community Development Department has announced that it will begin accepting applications for the Housing Rehabilitation Program starting Monday, March 11, 2024, through Friday, March 15, 2024.
This program, funded through the HUD CDBG or HOME federal grant funding, aims to assist homeowners in maintaining and improving their homes.
To participate in the Housing Rehabilitation Program, homeowners can submit their applications in person at the Bolton Community Center, located at 315 Bolton Avenue, Alexandria, LA 71301. Alternatively, applications can be completed online at www.mygovernmentonline.org during the application period, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
In order to be eligible for assistance, residents must meet specific criteria, including:
- Currently owning and occupying the home where assistance is requested.
- Meeting the current HUD income limits based on the number of people residing in the household.
- Providing valid picture identification for each homeowner listed on the property deed and/or mortgage.
- Residing within the Alexandria City limits.
- Being aware that prior year awards in the last 5 years may impact eligibility.
