Re-count for Rapides Parish Police Jury District B in progress after results showed a narrow win for the incumbent

Rapides Parish, LA (10/19/2023) – Rapides Parish Police Jury District B unofficial results showed Joe Bishop narrowly winning re-election by only 3 votes the challenger Randy Wiggins asked for a re-count, according to his Facebook Page.

Wiggins said on Sunday evening, “There is going to be a recount because there was only a 3-vote difference.” The recount is scheduled for this morning, Thursday, October 19, 2023

The unofficial count published by the Louisiana Secretary of State reports 1,648 for Bishop and 1,645 for Wiggins.

There are no provisions in Louisiana Law that trigger an automatic recount of votes in an election. The Law requires the person requesting the recount to pay for it.
