Baton Rouge, LA (12/11/2022) – A 30-year-old policy advocate received 59% of the vote to defeat incumbent Lambert Boissiere III. Boissiere held the seat for almost 18 years.
The Louisiana Public Service Commission regulates the state’s public utility companies and energy sector and sets electric rates, among many other duties. However, it does not set utility rates for local governments that own their utility systems, such as Alexandria, Louisiana, according to the Alexandria City Charter, section 2-12:(7).
